The answer is not only yes, but usually you have a legal right to a copy. It is very much like a credit check, you get a free copy if some one or some company has checked it. Background checks are used to verify information. Some times people can get a little afraid of what will turn up in one, but have no fear, you do get a copy of one as long as you check mark the box on the application as indicated. I’ve had a few background checks and their no big deal. It is just good Human Resources practice to keep people honest by checking out what they put on a resume or job application.
