Internships will allow you to network for future job searches
Many people believe that internships are a success only if you get the opportunity to stay with a company permanently — yet this is not always the case. Many companies simply do not have enough available openings to place all of their interns into permanent jobs. If you were not selected for a permanent position, don’t consider your internship wasted — for one thing, you can build upon the contacts that you made and the relationships that you established with key movers and shakers in your department. Down the road, when you are engaged in a more formal job search, you’ll be able to use those contacts to network with.
