Oftentimes, the best way to defeat your adversities in life is face it and fight it. The same thing goes with what many anxiety-patients ask about how to deal anxiety. As they have also known that their anxieties are caused by past traumatic experiences, there is nothing better to stop it than to face it. They can ask the help of their loved ones to assist them in facing their fears. It may be the hardest to do but it definitely is the only way to keep them selves away from the attack. It would just be painful at first, but sooner, after resolving the fear, they would find them selves free from the chain that imprison them.
