Gout is one of the most common diseases but is ironically taken for granted by many people.  Why this is so?  There are various reasons for it.  One is the fact that gout sounds like a sexually-transmitted disease and some people feel embarrassed to be treated for it.  It is actually a very ancient disease and there could be no possible reason why they should feel that way. The more prevailing disease is the wrong notion that this is a pretty simple disease with no cure.  It is like common colds which up to now evades cure.  While it is true that there is no fool-poof gout cures yet, the disease is something that can’t be taken lightly.  Gout can be deadly when left uncured.
