Both my husband and I love the grace and beauty of old Irish homes, which is why we bought one.  He wisely suggested that we contact a company to have the home insulated before we moved in, but I did not want to do anything to ruin the house’s charm.  We moved in that winter and I soon realized that the fireplace was not nearly enough to keep us warm.  The following spring I gave in and we had cavity insulation installed.  Of course my husband had been right and we couldn’t even see the spray on product in the walls and attic.  But we sure felt the different the following winter.
