Which Computer Brand Is The Best?
This isn’t a discussion of Mac vs. PC. We all know that Mac is better. If, however, you find yourself needing a PC because of software compatibility needs, then what do you do? You don’t have a bunch of different brands of Mac computer out there. It’s all Apple. In the PC market, you have a lot of different brands making a lot of different computers. What is a guy to do?
Price is one indication of quality, but not the only indication. You should obviously look at the components, because a computer is merely the sum of all its components. If a computer has a high quality processor, high-grade RAM, etc., then the computer is going to be good. Generally speaking, the lower-grade brands like Compaq, Gateway, and eMachines have lower quality components. I’ve had Compaq computers (laptops and desktops) and frankly they’re great at the beginning, but die fast. They’ve generally lasted about 2 years for me and die out right after the warranty expires. Go figure!
I’ve been buying budget laptops all my life, but I’ve reached a point where I’m ready to try something more high-end. Dell, Toshiba, Sony, and HP generally make higher quality computers that are likely to last longer with fewer problems with computing.
